Taking the "solo" out of solopreneur

Congrats on taking the big, scary step to start your own business. It’s exciting and terrifying and awesome, all wrapped up into one. But when you find that thing that you love, that you’re so good at - better than anyone else - you’ve gotta follow your heart, right? And in the beginning, it’s all the feels. You’re out on your own, being your own boss, making your own rules. Your product or service is going to make a splash. You’ll be the talk of the town. You’ve figured out why you’re awesome and how to get to market but then...mentors and other business owners and people who care about you start asking questions like, what type of entity are you? Sole proprietor? LLC? Corporation? Do you have insurance? No? They look horrified. Are you saving your receipts? Escrowing money for taxes? What’s an escrow, you ask.

Doing all the things is ok in the beginning, afterall, you’re likely on a budget as you get your footing and find your way in this new world. But even doing all the things doesn’t mean you know how to do them all right away.

Help is on the way! I’ve been there, done that. Three times in fact. And let me tell you, it’s scary and exciting EVERY time. And while I highly recommend entrepreneurship and wouldn’t trade it for all the chocolate cake in the world (ok, maybe I’d consider it for ALL the cake), having an experienced guide on your entrepreneurship journey can make all the difference.
