WHAT IS A BUSINESS CONSULTANT?
A business consultant is an independent professional who, for a fee, helps a business owner define and achieve goals through better utilization of resources. Business consultants not only propose change, but also help implement it as well.
HOW CAN I TELL IF I NEED A CONSULTANT?
There are no hard or fast rules for deciding but when to bring someone in to help solve a problem but here are a few scenarios when one might be helpful:
When you've identified a problem but don't feel you have the skills or knowledge necessary to solve it.
When you've got the skills and knowledge to solve said problem, but not the time to or staff to do so.
When you require an independent third-party opinion, either to confirm a decision or to provide alternate options.
When things could be better, but you're not sure what to do or where to go to obtain sound, professional advice.
WHY DO I NEED BUSINESS CONSULTANT? WHY NOT JUST DO IT MYSELF?
Business owners hire consultants for a number of reasons, here are a few of the most common:
